You can start building right away or learn the software with The Build Academy, which gives you a series of challenges and a little LEGO-wizard to guide you on your way.
Most interestingly, it's integrated with Google Maps, so you can choose to build on actual plots all over the world. Once you've finished, you can publish your structure on the map and share with friends.
